Diesel fuel breaks down over time. Water from condensation collects in the tank, bacteria grow where fuel and water meet, and sludge settles on the bottom. Fuel polishing is the process of circulating that diesel through specialized filtration and water separation equipment to remove the contamination — leaving clean, usable fuel in your tank.
Inspect & sample
We draw a sample from the bottom of the tank to check for water, sludge, microbial growth ("diesel bug") and sediment.
Circulate the tank
Our mobile unit pulls fuel from the lowest point of the tank and agitates it, stirring up settled debris so nothing stays behind.
Separate water
Fuel passes through a high-efficiency water separator that removes free and emulsified water — the main cause of corrosion and bacteria.
Multi-stage filtration
Fuel is pushed through progressively finer filters, down to microns, capturing sludge, rust, asphaltenes and microbial mats.
Return clean fuel
Polished diesel is returned to the tank in a continuous loop until it runs clear and bright. Optional treatment is added to prevent regrowth.
